The students of Douglass High School are beginning to make creative contributions to the Root Riot Harambee gardens. The signage was designed by student DeAngelo Mills. The “Peace” Flags, which signify a desire for peace in our community, adorn the fence.

Our good works and reputation are spreading! On Friday, July 30, Cook County Commissioner Earlean Collins and Frederick Douglass High School Principal Dr. Deborah Crump did a walkthrough tour of our garden. West Side Garden Tour
On Saturday, July 31, members of Root- Riot Harambee joined the Austin Green Team’s tour of several community gardens on Chicago’s west side.
