Hello Everyone,
This is a reminder that we have a workday this coming Saturday from 10-12pm. This time around we also have a large group of volunteers from the Austin Garden Collective who will be joining us to help get a larger volume of work done. We will be dealing with cleaning, mowing, weeding, and tree limb removal, but If you have something that you are wanting to get done with your own garden bed, there will be many more extra hands than normal.
In addition there are some other things to let you know about.
Neighborspace
After years of the property at Harambee changing hands between banks and owners, all of the conditions have been met for Neighborspace to acquire the land, thus providing a permanent home for Harambee, Glen Art Farm and all of the other members of our community who are out to do social good. Among the things that are now possible is being able to do some real development on the property and already several projects are in formulation. For example October 19th is the tentative date for Openlands to do a tree planting in the parkways along Race and Waller AND stay tuned for news about a possible architectural shade structure.
It is now possible to make substantial tax deductable donations to Neiborspace and earmark your contribution toward various Harambee projects. See the link Below

Race Block Club Party
Following the workday on Saturday, there will be a block club party on Race and all are invited. It will take place between Noon and 7pm and include the screening of a movie starting at dusk.
