Hello Everyone,
The second session in the Root-Riot Core Learning Series takes place this weekend. On Saturday, June 12th at 2:30 PM at the Madison and Grove site or Sunday, June 13th at 2:30 PM at the Harambee site (Race and Waller). Each day will have a different speaker but similar topics will be covered.
This session (Maintaining Your Garden) will address maintenance issues like:
- Weeding
- Bugs! The good, the bad, and the maybe OK (pdf)
Chemical and pesticide free solutions - Nurturing the soil, adding compost, when and were
- Watering
- Adding plants – lettuce is done. What do you do with that space now?
- Companion plants
- Composting
- Etc.
Bring your questions. If you are not able to attend email your questions to learn@root-riot.com and we will see that you get a response. Hope you can make it to one of the days!
PS
Sunday is also a build day at the Harambee site from to 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM. We have material for a fence and we are continuing work on the common area. Any amount of time that you can contribute would be appreciated.
In the next day or two we will post a link on the Root-Riot web site to a document discussing insects and other pests and how to handle them without using pesticides or chemicals.
